The arena

Your Elo will climb.

Thirteen moves, all the way to mate. Watch it play out, then come and play your own.

FreeNo card neededFive minutes

The opening

Four moves, and the game is already committed.

The coach does not recite theory. It shows you what those four moves just gave you, or just cost you.

The middlegame

The engine never lies.

Stockfish calculates, the coach explains. Never the other way round: a coach that guesses teaches nobody anything.

The trap

The queen is offered. Black takes it.

It is the only mistake in the game, and it is enough. Your diagnostic looks for exactly those in your play.

The reckoning

Three minor pieces are enough.

Fifty-seven modules in the catalogue, four hundred and seventy-one positions, each replayed by the engine before publication.

Checkmate

Mate on the thirteenth move.

Légal de Kermeur, Paris, 1750. The same combination still lands today, at every level.

Your turn

Now play yours.

Five minutes of diagnostic, then a plan that follows your level week after week.

The programme

The catalogue, position by position.

Every tile comes from a real lesson. The position is engine-checked before it ships, and the move shown is the one you are asked to find. Hover a position: it zooms in and the move plays. On a touch screen, it plays as it scrolls past.

Inside the app

What you actually do, session after session.

The coach explains, then corrects you

It remembers your sessions. Miss the same motif twice and it changes angle instead of repeating itself.

You played Bxh7. The bishop drops: h7 is defended twice, you only attack it once. Count the defenders before you sacrifice.

What if I play Ng5 first?

Now it works. You add an attacker, it is two against two, and the sacrifice is on. Move order is what decides it.

Your level, as a number

The engine does not negotiate

Stockfish runs in your browser and evaluates every move, from 400 to 2300 Elo. The coach carries the teaching, never the calculation: when it claims a gain, the engine measured it.

The engine plays.

The coach carries the teaching: the dialogue, the memory of your sessions, your plan. Stockfish carries the truth of the game: every move, every evaluation. Two specialists — never one standing in for the other.
